On-going Distance Learning
A number of these LearningMethods
Online distance learning groups have been up and running
for a while now.
There has been such a lot of interest from
others wanting to join that I am opening up several
new training groups to start as soon as possible (more
information and joining here).
Each group will be small to allow for in-depth
work (between 3-6 people). To join a group, contact me at
Who is it for?
The distance learning module is for those
who live far from the LearningMethods Centre in Toronto and
so cannot make it to regular in-person classes. It is also available for those
who live locally but who travel often.
What is it and how does it
work?
The core of the LearningMethods Online
format are the regular live session with group members, but
there is much more that adds up to a rich interactive learning
experience:
— live video and audio
conference call sessions of about 2 hours each week
via Zoom (a live video teleconferencing
application with simultaneous live video and audio all
handled through your broadband Internet, i.e. no phone-ins).
In addition to the live interactive functions,
the system also provides a
live whiteboard function for sharing
diagrams, pictures and file
display, as well as streaming of audio
and video files. All group sessions are recorded
for our archives and are available
to any group member.
— a dedicated (private) group
e-mail discussion list for questions, discussion
and sharing ideas,
— a dedicated
shared cloud-based
site for each group where all the recordings of that
group's live sessions, podcasts, webinars, and resources are
archived and available for download and study,
— the cloud
site also hosts a range of resources
by David Gorman, other LearningMethods teachers, and other people.
These resources include relevant articles, scientific
papers, audio and video recordings,
and so on.
— a growing library of hundreds
of previously-recorded LearningMethods and Anatomy of Wholeness
workshops and classes on a wide range of topics
available for streaming or download,
— and available now (with more
coming in the future) — webinars, online seminars,
and courses available for self-paced study so you
can step through learning on territories like our human structure
and function (Anatomy of Wholeness), balance and support (Standing
on Top of the World), working with performers and performance
teachers (Liberating Performers), and other areas.
Access to these online courses is available to group members
is either free or discounted.
A number of these online groups have been
running for years in this distance learning module and others
are about to open up. If you are interested in joining one of
these new groups, you'll find more
practical information here about structure, scheduling, fees,
etc. or contact me at
and ask me questions about any aspect of the program.
